The Burgeoning Cuisine Scene
Recently, there has been a food-focused reinvention of Pioneer Square led by the opening of several new restaurants, including Bar Sajor, London Plane, Rain Shadow Meats Squared, Tinello, and Il Corvo Pasta.  Tried and true venues such as Delicatus, The Berliner, and Salumi continue to produce excellent fare, and coffee lovers can’t go wrong with urban coffeehouses like Zeitgeist and Caffe Umbria. Pioneer Square is an up-and-coming foodie’s paradise.

Seattle’s First Historic District
Pioneer Square is rich in history and culture.  It is Seattle’s second oldest neighborhood and where the city itself took root. Many of the buildings in the neighborhood date back to the 1890’s, when the district rebuilt using brick and stone after the Great Seattle Fire of 1889 destroyed most of the buildings. This classic architecture mixes with art galleries, museums, restaurants, coffee shops, bars & clubs, and a vibrant neighborhood retail to create an eclectic fusion of old city meeting modern world.

The Waterfront Revival
One block to the west of 111 S Jackson is the southern end of the new Waterfront Seattle Project. Envisioned as a world class transformation of the Seattle’s waterfront by the renowned design team of James Corner, the new waterfront will be completed by June 2016.  Amenities will include parks and paths, access to the water, viewpoints, vibrant public and cultural spaces, and a new urban street accommodating all modes of travel.

Urban Living
The Pioneer Square area saw a 40 percent increase in the number of residents living there between 2000 and 2010. Revitalization of the area will come full circle with the development of several high-end residential towers. The Post Apartments has 208 luxury units and was recently completed in December 2012. Stadium Place, which will have 439 luxury units, is slated for completion in late 2013.

Stadium District
A short walk from 111 S Jackson, the Stadium District is an emerging entertainment hub. Sports fans and visitors congregate every season at Safeco Field (home of the Mariners) and CenturyLink Field (home of the Seahawks and Sounders FC).  There’s also CenturyLink Event Center, offering a large venue for trade and consumer shows, concerts, and other large events.

Transportation and Access
By 2015, Pioneer Square will offer access to more transit options than any other location in the region.  Interstate 5, Interstate 90, and Highway 99 are all located nearby and easily accessible from the area.  From King Street Station, travelers can access Amtrak, Link Light Rail, Bolt Bus, Seattle METRO, and Sound Transit.  Within walking distance is Coleman Dock, offering ferry service to/from Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, and Vashon Island.  Additionally, a streetcar with a stop directly outside 111 S Jackson is slated for completion in April 2014, giving commuters direct access to Capitol Hill.
